Feelings Matter: Listening To Your Inner Truth

By Shannon: Emotions are powerful teachers. When we move through difficult times, it’s important to truly listen to what we feel.

Often, our deepest emotions are buried beneath layers of other reactions, and it can take patience and inner work to uncover what is real and what is simply a mask.

Some feelings rise from old pain and trauma, triggered more strongly in certain situations. This is why we might feel indifferent when some people leave our lives, yet feel an unexplainable pull—positive or negative—towards strangers or acquaintances. Meanwhile, our own inner dramas can remain unnoticed or unacknowledged.

Why does this happen?

Many of us were taught not to show emotions openly, to hold back tears or avoid vulnerability. Yet moments like heartbreak or loss can bring even the strongest person to a place where emotions flow openly and daily. At times, our soul understands the need for connection or separation before our conscious mind does, even if we are the ones who pushed someone away.

What does this mean for us?

Simply put: emotions matter. They guide us toward who belongs in our lives and who doesn’t. The exit of someone may be painful, but it can also serve as the very catalyst we need for growth, healing, and alignment with our soul’s path. Not all pain leads to transformation, but by facing our feelings honestly, we gain awareness of what is true within us.

When we explore our emotions deeply, we begin to understand why we react the way we do toward others. This awareness helps us decide whether to hold on, let go, take a break, or shift direction entirely. Happiness is found in small daily moments, but emotions keep guiding us back to what matters most—often to the people or lessons we are meant to face again and again.

The message

Don’t ignore or overwrite your emotions. Pay attention to what you feel in each situation, not just what you think. Allow your emotions to inform your decisions, rather than making choices impulsively to avoid discomfort. Repressed feelings don’t disappear—they resurface when least expected.

Open your heart and mind today to embrace your emotions. By honoring them, you step into a greater existence and align with the deeper truths of your soul.
