By Laura: There’s something I see over and over again—not just in readings, but in everyday life.
People reach a point where things feel heavy, confusing, or simply too much… and the first question is always:
“Why is this happening to me?”
It’s a real question. An honest one. And it often comes from a place of exhaustion, frustration, or even quiet overwhelm.
Because sometimes life doesn’t just feel challenging—it feels unfair.
I’m not here to tell you that everything happens for a reason in a way that suddenly makes it all okay. That kind of thinking can actually disconnect you from what you’re truly feeling. But there is something deeper going on—and understanding it can change how you move forward.
When Life No Longer Fits
What I’ve come to realise is this:
Life doesn’t challenge you to punish you.
It challenges you when something in your life is no longer working.
It’s not always about karma, fate, or some kind of test you’re failing. Often, it’s simply a moment where what you’ve been doing, accepting, or repeating… no longer fits who you are becoming.
The truth is, most of us don’t change when things feel comfortable.
If a relationship feels “fine,” we stay.
If a job is “good enough,” we stay.
If a pattern feels familiar—even if it isn’t healthy—we repeat it.
There’s no urgency to move.
So life creates one.
The Shift From Comfort to Change
At first, something just feels off.
Then uncomfortable.
Then deeply uncomfortable.
And eventually… something shifts, breaks, or demands your attention.
Not because life is working against you—but because staying where you are is no longer aligned with who you’re meant to become.
What It Reveals in Relationships
This shows up strongly in relationships.
You might find yourself with someone who can’t fully commit, or who gives just enough to keep you there—but not enough to make you feel secure.
And you wonder:
“Why am I going through this?”
But beneath that question, something deeper is often waiting to be seen:
Where are you accepting less than you truly want?
Where are you hoping someone else will change instead of choosing differently for yourself?
Where does this feel familiar?
These aren’t always easy questions—but they are powerful ones.
When Life Pushes You Forward
The same applies to work, purpose, and direction.
You might feel stuck, drained, or undervalued—but you stay because it feels safe or stable.
Until one day… it doesn’t.
The discomfort grows too loud to ignore.
And it can feel like life is working against you—but in reality, it’s creating enough pressure that you can no longer avoid what you’ve been feeling all along.
Because if it stayed “bearable,” you would likely stay.
And growth doesn’t happen there.
What Challenges Are Really Asking
Let’s be clear:
This doesn’t mean you deserved anything painful.
It doesn’t mean everything had to happen.
Some things are just hard. Some things hurt.
You’re allowed to feel that—fully.
But within every challenge, something is being placed in front of you:
A pattern
A truth
A decision
A boundary
Something that is asking to be seen differently.
And often, the real shift doesn’t happen when the situation changes.
It happens when you do.
The Turning Point
That change might look like:
Walking away from something you’ve outgrown
Speaking up when you would normally stay quiet
Choosing yourself instead of waiting to be chosen
Realising that what you once wanted… no longer feels right
None of this is easy.
But this is where movement begins.
Growth isn’t comfortable. If it were, everyone would choose it.
It usually begins in that moment when you think:
“I can’t keep doing this the same way anymore.”
If you’re in a place right now where things feel heavy, confusing, or misaligned…
You are not being punished.
You are being shown something.
You don’t need to have all the answers right away.
You don’t need a perfect plan.
But you do need to be honest with yourself about what isn’t working.
Because whatever keeps showing up—whatever keeps triggering you, frustrating you, or making you question things— It’s pointing somewhere. And the moment you start listening to that, instead of resisting it…
That’s when things begin to shift.
